Senior Care You Can Trust
Our Team
For some years Tim & I were acutely aware of the shortfalls in Social and Community Care. Having spent over 55 years between us dealing with the financial aspects of care, we historically had always simply introduced our clients to care agencies and left it to them to sort out domiciliary care.
We were always keen to add the “final piece to our jigsaw” and complete our range of services in that we felt that we could provide superior domiciliary care to complement our existing work. However, to do this, we needed to work with a like-minded person, suitably qualified and experienced in Nursing care as well as a background in managerial and business. A tall order indeed. These attributes came to light when I was talking to a business contact called Carlos Pasay. Carlos told me about his education and experience in the world of Nursing. I couldn’t wait to get back to the office and call Tim to say “I had found our jigsaw piece”. Now we could complete our service. Carinyo Care was borne.

About Carlos
In 1995, I attained my Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing in the Philippines. Following my graduation, I became a volunteer with the Philippine National Red Cross for a few months. I then worked with Cardinal Santos Medical Centre as an Operating Room/Theatre Nurse and in the Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit for 4 years. This was followed by 2 years as a Private Nurse with The Medical City where I have looked after clients on a one to one care. With my ambition for professional growth and long-term goals, I aimed to work abroad and eventually came to the UK in 2001 and worked as a Registered Nurse. After 8 months, I applied for my family to come over under the Dependent Visa Scheme and have later on joined me in 2002. Subsequently, we all became UK permanent residents in 2005 and British Citizens in 2006. I have always strived for success and a better life for my family hence I kept pushing for growth and can proudly say that my family and I have attained this. I consider that success is not final, nor failure fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts!
Having been in the UK for over 2 decades, I have acquired a vast experience in the care sector for over a period of 11 years. This included working in multiple nursing departments, 4 years as an Ophthalmology Nurse with the NHS, 5 years as a Nurse-in-Charge of a Care Home and 2 years as an Agency Nurse working with different Nursing Homes, mostly in the Dementia Units.
Since 2006 I have been striving to be in business and have tried to start a few on a part-time basis and fortunately by 2012, I became a full-time entrepreneur.
I am always looking for new challenges and I was fortunate enough to be with Philip and Tim in starting this exciting new venture of Carinyo Care.

About Tim
Having acquired a lifetime experience of over 45 years in independent financial advice, wealth management and financial planning, the later years of which were focused on funding for Long Term Care, developing a specialisation in later lifestyle planning seemed a natural progression.
Adding to this career development, I was a Magistrate at Victoria Law Courts in Birmingham for 17 years and have been involved in charity work mainly in the health and welfare sector. I was an Alzheimer’s dementia champion and friend until recently having to step down as my partner and I moved from the West Midlands to the South Shropshire Hills on her retirement.
With this legacy behind me, I was inspired to enhance the services I offered to clients, their families and carers, thereby providing a much broader service outside of the financial services sector.
I provide independent practical guidance, advocacy and support to people in later life. I do this across the areas of health and welfare, hospital, social and community care, personal well-being, lifestyle planning and day to day management of affairs.
I encourage and help clients realise that it is possible to live a fulfilling life whilst maintaining independence, dignity, comfort and security. I devote all my energy, enthusiasm and lifetime experience to holistic planning and personal wellbeing matters. I work closely with families and their friends, healthcare professionals, carers, nominated attorneys, specialist later life lawyers and financial planners. I am dedicated to providing guidance and support to people through their retirement years, advancing frailty and ageing process, through to the end of their life.
Whilst developing this sole trader practice, I co-founded CAFEtalk with Philip Braunstein in 2017.
CAFEtalk provides a support and advocacy service and makes sure our clients receive all that they are due, in financial terms, from the State.
Through working closely with our clients, we identified some imperfections in the health and welfare sector. These included an acute shortage of superior quality care in the community both in domiciliary and residential settings. Both of us are passionate about the provision of quality social and community care and the importance of companionship. With neither of us being afraid of a challenge, the idea for Carinyo Care was conceived. Fortuitously, Philip mentioned our proposed project to a business contact called Carlos Pasay. It transpired that Carlos had been a qualified Nurse of considerable experience before pursuing a successful career in the business world. Carlos immediately saw the need and potential. He quickly became passionate and enthused by the aspiration shared with us.

About Philip
For nearly 40 years my business has revolved around affecting commercial introductions to the Legal, Accountancy, Financial Services, Care, Water, Marketing and the Export sectors.
The foundation of my referrals, has in the main, been focused on a peer-group recommendation. This I believe is the true basis for identifying people who are at the top of their profession or trade. After all, if you needed heart surgery wouldn’t you want to go to the surgeon whom top surgeons go to if they required a procedure, in effect the Doctors’ Doctor.
For 20 of those years, I was engaged in financial services where I was a Partner in an Independent practice. I specialised in Long Term Care (LTC) fee planning. I became a director of IFACare, a not for profit organisation set up to teach other Independent Financial Advisers, as well as solicitors how “dovetail” LTC with Inheritance Tax Planning.
On the charity front I have been a director of a Manchester daycare centre for many years and currently serve on the investment committee.
Having retired from financial services I remained active in the care sector and together with my business partner Tim Field, whom I first became acquainted with at IFAcare, set up CAFEtalk some five years ago.
CAFEtalk provides a support and advocacy service and makes sure our clients receive all that they are due, in financial terms, from the State.
One area we did not deal in was Domiciliary Care, which is providing Carer/Nurses/Companions (CNC) to live with clients (patients) on a 24/7 basis. Historically we simply introduced our clients requiring this service to the appropriate agencies.
But no longer; Tim and & I together with Carlos set up Carinyo Care.

Anne
Registered Manager
About Anne
More recently, I have been a successful manager for domiciliary and nursing care embracing the three adult learning disability services. Within all these roles, client care has been my priority, making sure staff skills and attitudes are of the highest standard. This required substantial managerial skills including reassessing and redeveloping care plans, introducing clinical standards, working with teams to build confidence, and tackling bad practices. This was achieved by using established statutory legislation such as human and workers’ rights, and healthcare sector policies and procedures.
I have worked alongside both clinical and non-clinical staff ensuring that all systems are compliant with the Care Quality Commission, NHS and Clinical Commissioning Groups, and Local Authorities guidelines and frameworks. Whilst working in the nursing home environment, I managed large teams of carers and nurses making sure that person-centered care ran alongside clinical needs, thereby ensuring the clients were seen as a whole person.
I have extensive experience in safeguarding and both internal and external investigations and have supported the police and the Nursing Midwifery Council in disciplinary cases. I have taken the lead in CQC inspections and have received positive feedback regarding my approach to client care and team management. My strengths include understanding communication and behaviour, how these encourage good quality care and support, and how this ensures the development of good relationships. These skills embrace clients, their families, the CQC, and community healthcare professionals.
It’s very exciting and a great privilege to be part of Carinyo Care; and to be working with an incredibly talented team who are encouraging me to achieve my passion in delivering quality care and support, and providing me with a challenging opportunity to develop my skills, knowledge and experience.
