Modern Slavery Policy
Slavery, child labour and human trafficking are serious crimes under the Modern Slavery 2015 (MSA) and a violation of fundamental human rights. There are various forms of this modern slavery which deprive victims of their liberty and usually involve financial exploitation.
Policy Statement
Carinyo Care Ltd is committed to upholding the principles of the MSA and subsequent statuary amendments. We pledge to work towards the abolition of modern slavery and human trafficking.
Our recruitment processes and procedures are designed to ensure compliance with the MSA and that all prospective employees are legally entitled to work in the UK and to safeguard employees from any abuse or coercion.
Embedding Principles:
- Carinyo Care aspires to embed and uphold the principles of the MSA through:
- Regularly monitoring our recruitment processes and procedures,
- Providing awareness training to staff on the MSA and subsequent amendments by informing them of the appropriate action to take if they suspect a case of slavery or human trafficking,
- Ensuring staff involved in recruitment are aware of and follow the latest guidance for modern slavery and trafficking and are aware of the guidance given by the Government and other bodies.
- Continue to embed a zero-tolerance policy towards modern slavery and trafficking,
Ensure that staff involved in the recruitment and deployment of workers receive training on modern slavery and ethical employment practices.
We do not knowingly enter into business with any organisations in the UK or abroad which do not adhere to high standards of compliance. Neither do we knowingly support any organisation found to be involved in slavery, servitude, trafficking, forced or compulsory labour.
Further, besides aspiring to full compliance, Carinyo Care is also acutely aware of its Corporate Social Responsibility thereby committing to the creation and maintenance of a non-discriminatory, tolerant and respectful environment for our service users and staff. We want all people and parties with whom we deal, to feel confident that they are valued and can expose any wrongdoing or breaches without any risk to themselves.
Controlling Risk and Threats
Carinyo Care will carry out regular and appropriate checks on all employees, recruitment agencies, suppliers and third-party service providers with whom we are involved, to monitor and always be aware of who is working for and on behalf of us.
Carinyo Care will robustly ensure that all employees and third parties providing services to and for us are aware of and comply with, the MSA. Our contracts and service agreements will contain clauses requiring immediate recording and reporting of any suspicions of modern slavery or human trafficking in our business or supply chains to the Directors, Regional Managers or Care Managers. The incident will be thoroughly investigated internally, and actions will be taken as required and appropriate.
Key Performance Indicators.
Carinyo Care will measure the effectiveness of this policy and the steps that we are taking, to ensure that slavery or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain if we don’t receive any adverse reports from; –
• internally within the Company from employees,
• the public,
• the CQC,
• third parties such as Government Departments, law enforcement or other compliance agencies.
By establishing and adhering to our Modern Slavery Policy, Carinyo Care Ltd demonstrates its commitment to complying with the MSA and hopes to contribute towards the eradication of trafficking and modern slavery.
Employees will not suffer any detrimental treatment as a result of reporting any genuine concerns, raised in good faith, under this policy. This applies, even if after investigation, they are found to be mistaken. If a situation occurs where employees or staff believe that they have suffered any such treatment, they should immediately inform their immediate line manager and refer to the Grievance and Whistleblowing Policies.
Carinyo Care provides every employee with a written contract of employment. We pay every employee by following the law. We comply with our legal obligations to ensure the health and safety of all our employees and workers, including concerning working hours, rest breaks and holidays.
